Why different types of advertisement need to be used within businesses.

Reaching different audiences. That’s your answer.

Most businesses nowadays have made it so that the goods and services they
supply reach a greater target audience as the desirability of having a niche
target market is slowly deteriorating.

Business’ such as Tesco’s are a good example for this. Their advertisement
goes from vouchers in newspapers, to TV advertisements of e.g. children’s
cereals. Just these two forms of advertisement together reach the age ranges
from as young as 4 to as old as 70.

Recently, we have started to see businesses with a niche target market go
bust. Some examples of these are businesses such as Mothercare and blockbuster.
They focus on the elder generation and
maybe their problem was they needed to expand so that the younger generation
was interested in their products. And advertising their products so the younger
generation will see would have to be an alternative approach to what they do
now.

That is why different types NEED to be used within businesses.

Not only does it allow for it to reach a greater age range, but globally
also. Businesses that use various types of advertisement allow them to locally
focus on their target market and also get their name out there globally whether
it be to a different part of the country their based in or overseas. Doing this
will increase their brand awareness and ensure that they don’t end up like
Mothercare or Blockbuster.

Netflix is my personal favourite. Their forms of advertisement for their
shows the produce cater for all age ranges and reach their target markets
through their advertisement. Whether it be a TV add or a poster board up at bus
stops introducing their new show. Everyone can see it.
